ACOTAR roleplay · Discord · 21+Courts Unbound
An ACOTAR roleplay on Discord. The courts are canon; the people are yours. Seven thrones stand empty in Prythian. Whom will the power choose?
A Court of Thorns and Roses roleplay, unbound
Twenty years ago the War of Thorns ended with all seven High Lords of Prythian dead within a single bloody season. A High Lord's power does not die with its bearer; it chooses the next. This time it chose no one. It slept, unbound, in the earth of each court.
Regents, councils and ambitious cousins held the courts together. They walled their borders, buried their dead and raised a new generation on stories of the war. Then, this spring, the seven powers stirred. Heirs and strangers alike began to dream of thrones.
Now is an age of learning, and of knives. Courts are rebuilding. Old houses are bleeding out and new ones are rising. Every throne in Prythian is open.
Whom will the power choose? Whom will you serve, and whom will you betray?

Choose your court
Seven courts, the courtless and the outlaws. Every path has its own ranks, secrets and enemies.
Night Court
Secretive, proud, fiercely loyal to its own. Prythian believes the Night Court is all nightmare; Velaris prefers it that way.
Day Court
Learned, ordered, contemptuous of ignorance. Knowledge is currency, and the court is rich.
Dawn Court
Gentle on the surface, relentlessly inventive beneath. Its healers are welcome everywhere; its inventors are watched everywhere.
Spring Court
Courtly, passionate, slow to forgive. Spring guards the Wall and the holes in it.
Summer Court
Merchant-princes, rich and wary. Twice burned, never trusting.
Autumn Court
Ambitious, fiery, at war with itself. Heirs have a habit of dying young.
Winter Court
Patient, stoic, long-memoried. Winter endures what kills other courts.
Courtless
Wanderers, mercenaries, scholars, merchants and anyone who never swore to a court.
Outlaws
Oathbreakers who fled their court with its secrets, and criminals every court wants dead.

Questions
What is Courts Unbound?
A 21+ play-by-post roleplay server on Discord, set in an alternate-universe Prythian from A Court of Thorns and Roses. The world is canon; every character is original.
Can I play a canon ACOTAR character?
No. No canon character exists here, and none may be named as kin, lover or face claim. The courts, peoples, magic and places are all yours to play in.
Do I need to have read the books?
It helps, but the guide covers everything you need: the setting, the seven courts, ranks, abilities and how play works.
How old do I need to be?
21 or older. Staff verify age privately through a ticket before you play.
Can I join with a new Discord account?
Accounts must be at least six months old. A younger account needs a vouch from a member with an approved character, or a censored ID shown privately to staff in a ticket.
Are there stats or dice?
No. Courts Unbound is writing-first: your character has a few abilities with proficiency tiers, and they grow through the threads you write.
Can my character become a High Lord or High Lady?
Yes. Each court has one throne, open to claim with a roleplay sample and a probation period. Inner Circle seats, ranks and titles are earned in play.
Is NSFW roleplay allowed?
Public channels fade to black. Explicit scenes are allowed only in opt-in private threads, between players who have all opted in.
How many characters can I play?
Two are free. Each further character needs 30 in-character posts on your newest one.
How do I join?
Join the Discord, verify your age with a ticket, read the guide and send your character application. Staff review it and you start playing.
