Courts Writing is the core of this server. There are no stat blocks: a character is a story, a personality and a short list of abilities.
1 · Know the world
Courts Unbound is an alternate universe. No canon character exists, and no canon event after the Treaty happened. Read Setting, Courts and #rules first. Your history must fit a Prythian twenty years after the War of Thorns.
2 · Choose your people
- High Fae: the default.
- Lesser faerie: pick a kind (naga, kelpie, pixie, river-spirit, something new) and one natural trait.
- Illyrian: usually Night Court born, war-camp raised. Wings fly only as a bloodline (see Abilities).
- Peregryn: usually Day Court born. Wings fly only as a bloodline (see Abilities).
- Human: from the Mortal Lands. Short-lived, magicless, resourceful.
- Made: claim only (see Claims).

3 · Choose your allegiance
One of the seven courts, Courtless or Outlaw (see Courts). Humans are usually courtless; a human sworn to a court is rare, and interesting.
4 · Choose your rank
Everyone may start as Sworn (court), Wanderer (courtless) or Petty outlaw. Anything higher is a rank claim: claim it in #claims first.
5 · Choose your abilities
Your rank gives your slots and tiers (see Abilities).
- A bloodline costs two slots, dormant and awakened. A fresh Sworn spends both slots to start with an awakened bloodline.
- A house art costs one slot. Custom houses and bloodlines go to #houses-and-bloodlines for approval first.
- Not on any list? Invent it, and staff will judge it for balance with the rest of your application.
- Forbidden magic, relics and the Court Power are never starting abilities (see Claims).
6 · Write it up
Open a post in #character-profiles titled Last, First. Copy the pinned template. Tag your allegiance and WIP. Personality is the most important section; history matters next.
Then answer In your own words, about you rather than your character: what collaborating in good faith, IC/OOC separation and this alternate universe mean to you. Not definitions; 40 words or more each.
7 · Submit
Switch the tag to Pending Review and ping nobody: a @Lorekeeper will find it. Staff may adjust formatting and set your server nickname to your character's name.
8 · After approval
- Open your ledger in #upgrade-ledger and your purse in #market. Every character starts with 500 Marks.
- Write a plotter in #plotters if you want partners to find you.
Character limits
- Two characters are free.
- Each further character needs 30 in-character posts on your newest one.
- Inactive characters may be archived after a staff warning.
